• Storage Tank – Most likely, this is the type you have already.  Water is stored in the tank and kept heated to the desired temperature, which you can set up or down to suit yourself.

• Tankless – These have an electric element attached to the water line that heats the water immediately once you turn on any faucet, your washing machine, and so on.  That means two added benefits:  hot water “on demand,” and an unlimited supply of hot water, depending on which unit you purchase.  Plus, tankless systems use less electricity than storage tank models.

Water Heater Enhancements

• Water alarms – These trigger when your water heater leaks, allowing you to take corrective action before the problem grows worse;
• Pressure regulators – They keep water pressure from exceeding a pre-set limit…that protects the unit and connecting pipes from leaking or bursting;
